Project Create: Day 12 - To Find The Way Out
I am definitely not sure if I even should post this at all. I don’t know who’s gonna hate on me after that. This is just something I thought about and this is how I would help in this situation. I’m not saying this is the resolution and this is how it’s gonna be. It’s just a suggestion. Simple as that. This is basically something I wrote in my journal this morning based on events from yesterday and the quick drawing is just something I did in addition to all of this.
This is about people who cut themselves and friends who wanna help.I myself have no experience in this whatsoever. I’m not a cutter and I don’t have real life friends that do but with the Internet and social media you meet a lot of people from different countries with different stories and problems. You meet a lot of people that cut and first it was a scary thought and I just wanted them to stop because it breaks my heart but I came to realize that telling them to stop isn’t the solution. I know people do that because they care but I don’t think it does any good. It’s an addiction. It’s not something to get over with from one second to another. You can’t just quit. It would be awesome if you could but you can’t. It’s not that simple.I realized yesterday that instead of telling them to stop tell them to face the reason for the cutting. There’s always a reason and as long as there is they won’t stop. They need the WILL to stop. They need to face their fears, face the problems. If there are people in your school or life in general that tell you that you are useless, worthless, waste of space, stupid, that you should kill yourself…well screw them. They don’t know you. They don’t know how those words affect you. they don’t know your past. They don’t know what they do. You have to face them. You have to stand up to them and tell them to beat it. You have to find a way to gain back your courage. let them talk but don’t let their words get to you. NEVER listen to a word they say. Never believe it’s true.If you wanna stop cutting you have to WANT to go the journey. You have to go your journey step by step. While stopping to cut is the very last thing on that journey. You have to realize that this journey will take a while and you have to keep fighting. Start with little things. Start facing the reasons for your cutting. Start building up your courage. As long as you get crushed by things, by people, you won’t stop. Face them. Don’t let anything get to you anymore. Work on that. Slowly step by step kill the reasons for the cutting. When youg et to that stage you will get tot he cutting. You will realize that there is no reason anymore for you to cut. You will gain enough courage to stop. You will tell yourself “Screw it! I won’t let this rule my life anymore. I’m not gonna do it!”You will try to stop. You will slip many times but you will start over again and you’ll try as long as you have to. It’s a long journey bhut if you try really hard you can do it.And to everyone who has friends that cut, don’t tell them to stop. Help them to go the journey. Help them to face the reasons for the cutting. Let them know you support them. No matter what. This is just my opinion. As I said, I don’t have experience with any of this but this is how I see it. You may agree or disagree. I don’t care.I KNOW how it is when people tell you mean things, hurt you with words, hit you. It crushes you, it makes you cry. A lot of people experience this but everyone is dealing with it differently. Some are stronger, some less. For me it was JUST that. Other people have to face way more. Problems with family, horrible stuff that happened in the past, parents/friends that don’t accept/approve of you or things you do. It adds up, it get’s to much at some point. I get it. I know its hard to fight but I hope everyone is having enough luck and strength to get over with it eventually. If you believe in yourself and if you have enough people to support you, to remind you daily, you WILL do it. Just have faith and never give up. Fight for it, fight for the future, fight for your dreams. =)
